UK consumer confidence is at its highest level since before the Russia-Ukraine war. In June 2023, the GfK Consumer Confidence Index rose for the fifth consecutive month to reach a score of -24. That’s not far off the -19 it scored in January 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine, although it remains well below the pre-pandemic score of -7 in February 2020. But higher prices are driving most of the growth.
