Similar patterns played out in France, Italy, Spain, and Turkey. In Russia, however, the decline was substantial in US dollars and rubles. Extreme inflationary conditions make these results even more difficult to interpret. We expect 2023 to deliver a return to stability in terms of both inflation and currency fluctuations, but until then international comparisons will continue to carry these caveats.

This year, Spain will have the sixth-highest rate of podcast penetration among internet users (30.0%) across the 18 markets we forecast. That will put Spain well ahead of the other major European markets, including the UK (27.9%), Italy (25.0%), Germany (24.4%), and France (22.9%).
